ANTONIO MORMONE INTERNATIONAL PRIZE
An innovative Prize honoring tradition and supporting the future
The Foundation La Società dei Concerti organizes the Antonio Mormone International Prize with the aim of discovering and promoting young artists in the spirit and with the ideals of its founder. Antonio Mormone became the point of reference, since the start of their careers, of many undisputed great artists of today. Among the music stars who recognize his crucial role, is the pianist Evgenji Kissin, who accepted the appointment as Honorary Chairman of the Prize.
The Prize will be awarded every four years and will alternately be assigned to young pianists and violinists between the age of 18 and 28.
The first edition will be entirely dedicated to the piano, the selections in three rounds, always as public concerts.
The innovative selection methods of the candidates, the jury, the final suite of concrete opportuni-ties provided to the winner and the prestigious setting make the Antonio Mormone International Prize a unique event. The final, due to the pandemic COVID-19, has been postponed to July 2021, from 7th to 11th, and the final evening and ceremony award will be at Teatro alla Scala in Milan.
